Flowers on a pushcart in Buenos Aires demonstrate that spring has sprung. Argentina celebrates the spring season on the 21st of September, although the actual vernal equinox is a day or two later.
Since 1902, the date September 21 also marks El Día del Estudiante (Student’s Day) making this date — and in fact the whole week of Semana de la Primavera(Spring Week) — a popular time for young people to celebrate in outdoor plazas and parks throughout the country.
