Puerto Madero is Buenos Aires’ modern neighborhood that-is-not-like-the-others. The newest neighborhood of the city now tops Recoleta as the wealthiest and indeed contains the most expensive real estate in the country. The privatized neighborhood is also the cleanest and safest in Buenos Aires, with one Coast Guard official for every ten residents, compared to the rest of the city where there is one police officer for every 200+ residents.
