Hostería del Lago is a nice choice for a traditional small four-star family hotel in Bariloche. The rustic Alpine-style building is inviting, as is the indoor-outdoor pool on a deck overlooking Lake Nahuel Huapi.
The rooms are cheerfully decorated and most have little balconies overlooking the lake. Larger families or groups who need more space can get adjoining rooms and there are a few self-contained cabin units.

The helpful staff is multilingual. In addition to the pool there are paddle courts, a daycare for the kids, a video game room and a pool table. An on-site Belgian chef prepares all types of international cuisine.
Hostería del Lago rests about seven kilometers outside of Bariloche, so its best for those who’ve rented a car or plan to hire a car service, the latter being a reasonable option here. It’s a good option for those who are here to ski or snowboard at Cerro Catedral.
Room prices vary depending on season and whether they have a kitchenette and a view. Make reservations, especially if visiting in summer or at the height of the ski season, Hostería de Lago is very popular.
Don’t miss the Patagonia-gourmet dining at El Patacon across the street. This where Bill Clinton enjoyed an Argentine steak while he was president with Argentine ex-President, Carlos Menem.
Hostería del Lago hasn’t jumped on the boutique hotel bandwagon but after some recent renovations prices have risen. It’s worth shopping around — as with all hotels available to reserve through Hotels Combined, they are required to offer better deals are online than through the hotel itself.
